Position: Executive Director for Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS)
Location: Washington, DC
ACICS is seeking an energetic, accomplished and ambitious chief executive to provide leadership, advance the Council’s mission, manage staff and operations, and interface dynamically with internal and external constituencies.
ACICS, a leading national accrediting body, is a non-profit organization with offices maintained in Washington, DC. ACICS is recognized by the US Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and accredits more than 700 institutions throughout the United States and more than a dozen foreign countries enrolling approximately 650,000 students and awarding credentials from the certificate level through the doctorate level.
The Executive Director is the chief executive of the organization who executes the mission and leads the overall strategy, vision, and positioning of ACICS. Working with the Board of Directors and internal staff, the Executive Director develops strategic plans and manages operations to insure efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources. Critical to this position is the ability to build the appropriate culture within ACICS and balance the needs and desires of its constituents, including member institutions, employees, the public, other accrediting agencies and governmental agencies, and educational and professional organizations.
