Career Technical College awarded 117 associate degrees of occupational studies at its semi-annual graduation during the summer.
Speakers included Cheryl Lokey, college director, and the keynote speaker was Randy McKinney, former criminal justice chair at the college.
Graduates who received academic awards for having the highest academic numerical average of 4.0 while in college were Waltea Cooper, surgical technology; Elizabeth Butts, massage therapy; Inga Hall, surgical technology; Ashley Pilgreen, surgical technology; Amy Joyner, radiography technology; and Dana Gunter, surgical technology.
Graduates recognized for the “Graduate Spotlight,” a special honor reserved for graduates who overcame many difficulties and obstacles while pursuing their education were Stephanie Butler, criminal justice, winter 2008 and Yolanda White, medical assisting, spring 2008.
