ANTHEM Education Group’s Chairman, Dr. JAMES HUTTON elected to the career college association Board

PHOENIX – Phoenix, Ariz.-based Anthem Education Group (AEG), the parent company of 23 accredited post secondary education institutions in 14 states, announced today that its Chairman of the Board, James D. Hutton, PhD has been elected to the Career College Association (CCA) Board of Directors. Dr. Hutton will serve a three-year term beginning on July 1, 2009.

The CCA is a voluntary membership organization of accredited, private postsecondary schools, institutes, colleges and universities that provide career-specific educational programs. CCA has more than 1,600 members that educate and support over one million students each year for employment in over 200 occupational fields.

“Jim is a visionary leader with a long history of success in education and he has been instrumental in the growth of Anthem Education Group,” said Bill Hillard, Chief Executive Officer of Anthem Education Group. “He will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Career College Association.”

Dr. Hutton has been an active chairman with Anthem Education Group and has been involved in the company’s recent reorganization, executive-level team building as well as regulatory and accreditation relations. Prior to Anthem Education Group, he was a co-founder of Education Corporation of American (ECA), a 19-campus educational institution that included Virginia College, Culinard and the San Diego Golf Academy (SDGA).

Dr. Hutton was elected as a commissioner for the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) and Council on College Accreditation (COCA) in 1999. Re-elected in 2003, he served as the 2006 Chairman of the ACICS Board of Directors. Additionally, Dr. Hutton was the 2004 Chair of COCA, chaired the Business Practices and Financial Review Committees and also served on the Distance Education and Nominating Committees for the national accrediting agency. He began his work in post secondary career education in 1989 as an adjunct night business administration teacher and has been a department chair, academic dean, campus director, CFO, COO, CEO, director, and partner.

Dr. Hutton has a bachelor’s in Business Administration from Faulkner University, with honors, and an MBA and PhD in Administration-Health Services from The University of Alabama at Birmingham, both summa cum laude.
