Former Education Department General Counsel Brian Jones Joins Strayer University

HERNDON, Va. -- Jan. 4, 2012 -- Strayer Education, Inc. today announced that Brian W. Jones, the former general counsel of the U.S. Department of Education, has joined Strayer University as general counsel. Jones will also serve as deputy general counsel for Strayer Education, Inc., the University's holding company.

Kendall College International Hospitality Lectures Series Attracts Nearly 100 Industry Leaders

CHICAGO -- December 30, 2011 -- Nearly 100 hospitality industry leaders attended the first Kendall College international speaker series event earlier this month. "Global Hospitality Spotlight: A Speaker Series" was the theme of the international hospitality speaker series, sponsored by the Kendall College School of Hospitality Management in partnership with HOTELS Magazine. The event featured keynote speaker Edwin Fuller, president and managing director, International Lodging Division, Marriott International, Inc., who shared his insights on the critical issues facing the hospitality industry. The event concluded with a question and answer session moderated by Jeff Weinstein, editor-in-chief of HOTELS Magazine.

Everest College Announces Promotions

Everest College has promoted Terri Hines of Chicago to regional vice president of operations for the Midwest region, and Julia Landrum of Chicago to president of the Everest College-Burr Ridge campus. In their new positions, both will support the career college's variety of programs for full and part-time students.

In her new role as regional vice president of operations for the Midwest region, Hines will use her strong background in management, training, operations, recruitment and customer service to manage and oversee six Chicago-area campuses: Burr Ridge, Chicago, Merrionette Park, North Aurora, Skokie and Merrillville, Ind.
