Today, University of Phoenix announced an innovative partnership with The Manufacturing Institute ("Institute"), the non-profit, non-partisan education and research affiliate of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM). Through this educational alliance, University of Phoenix will develop curriculum relevant to today's manufacturing workforce that aligns to the NAM-Endorsed Manufacturing Skills Certification System (SCS). SCS describes the competencies, certifications and educational attainment levels appropriate to manufacturing careers.

Florence, KY (March 11, 2010) -- Everyone has seen the faces of heartache in Haiti, and the response from the world has been tremendous, raising millions of dollars and countless volunteers giving of their time and expertise. Dana Hildebrand, a faculty member at Beckfield College, was drawn to help based on a personal connection to a young man in Haiti her mother tried to help prior to this natural disaster. Her relationship with this impoverished country and her empathy with its people jump started students at Beckfield College to launch a fundraising effort that netted $2000 for the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund in just weeks under her leadership.

The Art Institute of Atlanta is one of 12 Georgia institutions of higher learning to be named to the 2009 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, the highest federal recognition a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning, and civic engagement.
