The Art Institute of Atlanta Named to 2009 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll

The Art Institute of Atlanta is one of 12 Georgia institutions of higher learning to be named to the 2009 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, the highest federal recognition a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning, and civic engagement.

Rialto Police Officer to Receive National Award on Capitol Hill

Washington, March 9 -- Rialto police officer Crystal Gonzalez will be presented the Career College Association (CCA) 2010 GREAT (Graduate Recognition for Excellence, Achievement and Talent) Award at a ceremony in the Cannon House Caucus Room on Wednesday, March 10.

CCA President Harris Miller will present the award to Gonzalez, a 2007 graduate of Everest College in Ontario, California, for her outstanding academic and personal achievements. Gonzalez's determination to be a source of positive change in her community where she serves as a police officer and her heroism serving our nation overseas make her an ideal recipient of this year's GREAT Award.

Career Colleges Among 'Tree Campus USA' Institutions

Nebraska City, Neb. (March 9, 2010) -- The Arbor Day Foundation honored 74 colleges and universities with Tree Campus USA recognition in 2009, more than doubling the total from the inaugural class.

Tree Campus USA is a national program launched by the Arbor Day Foundation in 2009 and is modeled after the Foundation's successful Tree City USA program. Tree Campus USA aims to honor colleges and universities that use best tree-care and sustainability practices and engage students in tree-planting and conservation initiatives. The Tree Campus USA program is supported by a generous grant from Toyota.
