My name is James Wooden. I have a degree in practical nursing from Herzing, and I’m an ER nurse at Cooper Green Hospital. I chose Herzing because it seemed a little bit more conducive for the adult student. They seemed to be more accommodating towards the hours an adult student needs to maintain and the need to work, as well as go to school. I chose nursing. It just seemed the natural transition from my specialty in the military, as well as the demand. There’s always a need for nurses. You’ll never be without work. What I liked most was the class sizes. In most programs, the classes are mostly 40-50 strong. Here, it was a more intimate class setting, and everyone seemed to know each other and help each other out along the program.
