At age seventeen, I moved away from my family. I suffered from the insecurity and the conflict of trying to endure the streets and provide for myself yet I refused to go home. I struggled and never graduated high school. In November 2009, I saw a commercial for Javelin Technical Training Center and noted the school accepts individuals without a High School Diploma. My journey was difficult, frustrating, and I even wanted to end it all, until I regained the determination that lead me to call the school for information. I am a witness that Javelin can change lives. I graduated from Javelin Technical Training Center in 2010 with Honors and was the President of the National Technical Honor Society. I completed what I started and walked the stage to accept my certificate. So astounded, fear gripped my heart, as I wondered is this really me? I encourage those that are considering returning to school for career training, go back.
