New and exciting things are always happening at Allied College and this year is no different because the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) has recognized Allied College North once again. Sharonda Saddler is a mother of two and a full-time student at the Allied College North location in Maryland Heights, Missouri.
While attending the school’s Surgical Technologist program, Ms. Saddler has not missed a single day of school. Never greeting you with anything less than a smile, Sharonda has taken advantage of every opportunity and excelled with a positive attitude.
In her own words, Sharonda states “I want to do the best I can for myself and for my daughters. I don’t want to be a failure in their eyes.”
Every year ABHES hosts an Annual Conference on Allied Health Education. In 2010 it was held at the beautiful ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada from February 10th thru 12th. This year, Sharonda Saddler was honored for her drive and determination to succeed.
For her efforts, Ms. Saddler was awarded the $10,000 Richard L. Luebke Memorial Scholarship. Winning the Richard L. Luebke Memorial Scholarship is no easy task.
The scholarship committee evaluated hundreds of high-quality nominations from all ABHES Allied Health education schools before singling out Ms. Saddler for this very special award.
This is the second year in a row that Allied College North has been honored.
At last year’s Annual Conference on Allied Health Education, Pharmacy Technician Instructor, Krista Kippenberger, was honored with the Master Teacher Award. The award recognizes instructors for best practices in teaching the Allied Health disciplines.
It’s easy to see how the trend of excellence continues at Allied College North and will surely continue on through 2011 and beyond. Come and be a part of the excitement!
