The Career College Association (CCA) and its members have donated over $250,000 toward relief efforts for Haiti so far.
The situation in the country following the earthquake on Jan. 12 continues to be dire. The Haitian government estimates that 212,000 people have already died following the worst earthquake in this hemisphere in over 200 years. The death toll grows daily as those who have survived are in desperate need of food, clean water and shelter.
"While millions of dollars have already been given to the country so much more is needed," said CCA President Harris N. Miller, adding, "Our members are urging career college employees and 2.7 million students to contribute money and services to help Haiti recover and rebuild."
Please consider donating today. The public can text "Haiti" to 90999 to send a $10 donation to the Red Cross, an effort backed by the U.S. State Department. All donations received by March 1 are tax deductable for the 2009 tax year, according to the IRS.
