Hoffman Estates, Ill., Jan. 5 — Career Education Corporation (CEC) brings the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu(R) brand name to its culinary campuses nationwide, now known as Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. The transition to the Le Cordon Bleu name reflects a continued commitment, on behalf of the faculty and staff, to provide students with the foundation for a fulfilling career opportunity in the hospitality industry. The name change will officially be recognized with a ribbon cutting ceremony during the Le Cordon Bleu Challenge Events being held at local Le Cordon Bleu schools across the nation on Jan. 14, which marks the first-ever cooking demonstration on an electric stove at Le Cordon Bleu Paris in 1896.
Alumni chefs, local area personalities and students will compete for the "Le Cordon Bleu" title by putting a modern twist on the classic Poulet Saute aux Fines Herbes (Sauteed Chicken with Herbs). Attendees will be able to taste the competition dish created by each team and vote to determine the winner. In addition, a portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the local Ronald McDonald House.

Bachmann, vice president, academics, Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. "This competition highlights the great tradition of Le Cordon Bleu and the passion for cooking shared by our students, instructors and alumni."
Le Cordon Bleu Challenge events will be offered on a first come, first serve basis. Space is limited. Entry to the event is $25 per person.
