Despite criticism from some, Attorney General Jack Conway is defending his investigation of for profit colleges.
In recent weeks, Conway has filed suit against Daymar College and joined a larger suit with several other Attorney Generals against Brown Mackie college.
Conway has been investigating for-profit colleges for the past year, and while there are 141 in the state, Conway says he has only subpoenaed seven of them.
"This is not an assault on the whole industry," said Conway. "We’re just looking at bad actors, and that’s the nature of being Attorney General is looking at bad actors. And my concern about this industry is some schools are more interested in getting their hands on Federal student loan money than they are about educating people and placing them in jobs."
