Dallas — June 15, 2010 — ATI Schools and Colleges, a leader in helping people achieve better lifestyles through career education, has added to its family of career institutions the Dallas Nursing Institute (DNI), a vocational training provider dedicated to preparing students for success in their chosen nursing career. By joining the ATI family, DNI will help ATI Enterprises Inc. — a long-standing, Dallas-based career education company with now seven campuses in the area — to better meet the growing needs and demands of health care employers and the medical industry within the greater Dallas and north-central Texas region.
"We are pleased that ATI is filling such a vital need and look forward to helping educate and introduce skilled health care practitioners into the Dallas community for many years to come," says Carli Strength, ATI’s president and COO.
More than a decade into the U.S. nursing shortage, experts warn that the crisis will only intensify as tens of millions of baby boomers continue to age; current nurses are retiring at record rates and patients are living longer lives and needing more quality health care. According to the Health Resources and Services Administration, the United States needs to graduate approximately 90 percent more nurses in order to meet the projected growth in demand for nursing services.
“ATI has been able to differentiate itself and grow largely based on its ability to offer vocational training that is closely aligned with market demand, hiring forecasts and sector growth,” says Strength. “This additional campus and our expanded nursing curriculum is another example of our company’s commitment to delivering programs that open the door to student success.”
In December 2009, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the health care sector was continuing to grow despite significant job losses in nearly all major industries. Hospitals, long-term care facilities and other ambulatory care settings added 21,000 new jobs in November 2009 — a month when 85,000 jobs were eliminated across the country.
The Dallas Nursing Institute, located at 12170 N. Abrams Rd., Suite 200, offers programs in licensed vocational nursing <http://www.dni.edu> as well as an associate degree in nursing <http://www.aticareertraining.edu> . The institute is nationally accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools, the Texas Workforce Commission and the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners.
