Education and career services company, Kaplan Inc., signed a lease Wednesday for a nearly 100,000-square-foot building in Alpharetta, which the company said would accommodate its growing back office functions and bring 75 new jobs to the northern metro area.
New York City-based Kaplan has occupied a 34,000-square-foot facility at 3750 Brookside Parkway in Atlanta since 2005. Its 344 current employees and will move to Alpharetta in September.
“Kaplan continues to grow and expand as a company,” Allison Rutledge-Parisi, Kaplan chief administrative officer said in prepared remarks. “Employees at our Alpharetta office currently offer financial, regulatory and compliance support services to our higher education business. The move to the new office will bring new jobs to provide finance, financial aid, compliance and administrative positions to various Kaplan businesses.”
“We are very happy to have leased this space to Kaplan,” Jimmy L. Glenn, managing partner and president of Southprop Inc., said in a release. “In this case, we worked hard to find a creative solution that fits the needs of Kaplan and is beneficial for the community. The Alpharetta community will benefit from Kaplan’s commitment. Everyone wins.”
Kaplan said the company has a total of about 550 employees in metro Atlanta. The company is a subsidiary of The Washington Post Co.
It’s Atlanta operations include faculty and staff at Bauder College, it’s Kaplan IT Learning division, and the company’s test preparation centers.
