Kaplan University and the California Community Colleges Develop Online Option to Help California Students

Kaplan University and the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office today announced an agreement to allow California students to take single courses at the online University to help them fulfill their campus-based associate’s degree requirements. The agreement also allows California community college graduates to transfer to Kaplan University to complete online bachelor’s degrees at a reduced tuition rate.

It also allows California students to pursue their dreams of earning a college degree.”

The Kaplan University Community College Connection program allows California students to enroll in online Kaplan courses that have been approved by individual California community colleges. The Kaplan course credits will then transfer back to the students’ community college. Students in the Kaplan University Community College Connection program will be eligible for a 42 percent tuition reduction on their Kaplan University courses. Textbooks and instructional materials will be provided at no additional cost.

Students who complete their associate’s degree at a California community college and wish to transfer into a Kaplan University online bachelor’s degree program may enter the University’s Save My Credits Transfer program. The new program will allow California community college graduates to transfer credits from their associate’s degree to one of Kaplan’s online bachelor’s degree programs. Individuals enrolling through the Save My Credits Transfer programs will be eligible for a 10 percent tuition reduction.
