Margaret Pace Appointed Director of Career Services

Fort Myers, Fla., (July 1, 2009) – Margaret Pace, formerly the Vice President of Human Resources for Stock Development Company, has been appointed Director of Career Services for Southwest Florida College, Fort Myers.

Pace has quickly established herself as a leader and trend setter, with a top priority of achieving an institutional placement rate of no less than 94 percent and obtaining strategic partnerships for every one of SWFC’s academic departments and programs.

“I feel passionate about my work in helping students develop in their careers and providing guidance for their transition from school to the professional work world,” Pace said. “It is so energizing to see a student take their hard earned academic degree and utilize new skills to help them secure employment.”

Pace earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Central Florida and a master’s degree in human resources development and administration from Barry University.

Some of her responsibilities will include: hosting quarterly portfolio presentations and career fairs, establishing community relations, and playing a leading role in events that are closely related to the mission of Southwest Florida College which includes assisting students and graduates in obtaining a position in their career field.

Originally from Italy, Pace grew up in New York, and now calls Cape Coral home. During her down time, she enjoys photography, gardening and travel.

“I really enjoy connecting with the professional staff in each department and the genuine attention everyone gives at Southwest Florida College to each student they work with,” Pace said. “You can consistently see all around the campus how everyone cares about what they get to do for our students here.”

Southwest Florida College is an accredited, private, nonprofit institution of higher learning centrally located in Fort Myers, Tampa, Port Charlotte, and includes the Institute of Interior Design located within the International Design Center in Estero.
