Maric College Campuses Take the Kaplan Name

Eleven Maric College campuses in California celebrated their name change Sept. 26. The new name, Kaplan College, reflects the campus’ association with the Kaplan Higher Education group of academic institutions.

Kaplan Higher Education, a division of New York City-based Kaplan Inc., is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Washington Post Co. Its San Diego and Vista campuses have a combined enrollment of 1,800 to 1,900 students. Other campuses in the state are located in Bakersfield, Fresno, Modesto, North Hollywood, Panorama City, Riverside, Sacramento and Stockton.

Career-oriented and degree programs offered by the for-profit organization teach skills for employment in criminal justice, health care, business, education, financial planning, information technology, legal studies and fashion, among other fields. (San Deigo Business Journal)
