CLEVELAND, Ohio – Ohio Technical College, a private trade school providing technical training in a variety of transportation industries, has been named a 2010 NEO Success Award winner in recognition of the college’s business success in sales, growth and profitability.
"The staff and students at Ohio Technical College have experienced many amazing milestones during the past 12 months, from celebrating the college’s 40th anniversary to being named the Tomorrow’s Technician/Chicago Pneumatic 2009 School of the Year," said Tom King, director of enrollment management, OTC. "We are honored the receive a NEO Success Award for our dedication to Northeast Ohio and look forward to future growth opportunities as we continue to train students from across the country. Our commitment to providing tomorrow’s technicians with the advanced automotive skills necessary to succeed in the job is as strong now as it was on our first day of class back in 1969."
Last year, Ohio Technical College’s enrollment grew 22.2%, while the staff of full-time employees expanded from 170 to 197. More than 1,000 students are currently enrolled at the college, which offers specialized training in automotive, diesel, collision repair, classic car restoration, alternative fuel vehicles, high performance and racing, motorcycles, welding and more. The school is also one of four BMW STEP Training Centers in the country.
The NEO Success Award was established in 1995 by Inside Business magazine to annually recognize the top-performing companies in Northeast Ohio. Winners are chosen based on their determination to expand and revitalize the region’s economic status. The March/April issue of Inside Business will feature a list of this year’s NEO Success Award winners, along with profiles of a select group of award-winning companies. In addition, the magazine will recognize more than 90 local businesses at an awards luncheon on March 25, 2010.
