Cleveland, Ohio — The Ohio Technical College "Fuel Your Future Tour" will be on display at the Northeast Rod and Custom Car Show, March 25-27, 2011 at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Philadelphia, Pa.
Featuring a 75-foot tractor trailer that Ohio Technical College has customized into a mobile classroom, the Show will feature a live airbrush demonstration that tours high schools and automotive events around the country. It boasts practice paint stations that allow both high school students and the public to experience airbrushing in a unique environment.
Famed professional airbrush artist Richard Markham, who is an instructor for the leading automotive trade school’s Custom Paint and Graphics program, will give live airbrush demonstrations as he shares details of Ohio Technical College’s 12-week course that teaches airbrushing, 3-D paint effects, exotic paint, chameleon colors, flames and pinstriping. Markham’s famous custom cars including his "Ice Car" (2000 Toyota Celica) and others will also be on display for attendees to check out during the event.
Also featured at the event will be the OTC-Edelbrock Carburetor Challenge, which pits high school teams against each other as they battle to tear down and rebuild an Edelbrock Carburetor in the fastest time. Top teams will win scholarships and tools. In another skills competition at the event, OTC will host the High School Custom Paint Contest in which area schools will display a custom painted item provided ahead of time by Ohio Technical College and the top designs will win prizes for the schools and awards for the students.
In addition, students who come out to the event will have the chance to win one of 10 scholarships that will be given out by OTC to encourage high school students to consider jobs in the automotive industry. The school will have additional giveaways, prizes plus free airbrush lessons throughout the weekend.
