SCRANTON, PA, April 29, 2009 — Penn Foster Career School, one of the oldest and largest online learning institutions in the world, has launched a new Certified Personal Trainer Program.
With Penn Foster’s Certified Personal Trainer Program, students will receive thorough training in the techniques and skills of a Personal Trainer plus a National Council on Strength and Fitness (NCSF) Certification Package that contains materials that will prepare them for NCSF Certification. As part of this package, students will also receive a voucher for the actual NCSF Certification Exam.
The U.S. Department of Labor is projecting a 27% increase in personal training jobs over the next decade. However, in order to take advantage of this employment growth most fitness workers need to be certified. Recognizing the importance of certification in this field is what lead Penn Foster to develop their new Certified Personal Trainer Program.
“We realized that, in order for our students to take advantage of the explosive growth in this field, they would need to be certified. Including a certification component in our fitness program will increase the likelihood that graduates of this program will go on to be successful in this field,” stated Stuart Udell, CEO of Penn Foster.
