President Clinton to Speak at Career College Association Convention

Washington, DC, Oct. 13 2009 – President Bill Clinton, founder of the William J. Clinton Foundation and 42nd President of the United States, will be the keynote speaker at the Career College Association Annual Convention and Exposition, June 9-11, 2010, at the Palazzo in Las Vegas, Nevada.

"I am delighted to welcome President Clinton to this event," said CCA President Harris N. Miller. "President Clinton has been a true champion of higher education, creating the HOPE Grant program, and increasing federal aid to Pell Grants and the Federal Work Study Program. This will be a truly extraordinary moment for the career education sector, our institutions, the work we perform, and the students we serve. Career education is coming to the fore. President Clinton’s appearance at our Convention is certain to make this big tent gathering the biggest and best ever."

President Clinton’s appearance at the Convention is sponsored by Blackboard ProEd.

"As a governor, president and world leader, President Clinton has spent his career focusing on education and the importance it has on our position as a world leader," said Tim Hill, President of Blackboard Learn, Professional Education. "Increasingly, non-traditional learners are going back to school — at career colleges and institutions — to sharpen their skills enabling them to remain competitive in the work-force and impacting the health and future of our economy. No one is better positioned to address the needs of the CCA members then President Clinton."

President Clinton will appear at the General Session and Awards Lunch on Friday, June 11, 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.

At the event, the CCA will welcome more than 1,500 attendees from postsecondary schools, institutes, colleges and universities across the country to build knowledge, share best practices and business challenges across the career education sector.
