Rasmussen College has been approved to become the first private college to offer a practical police training program.
Until now, students pursuing a career in law enforcment could only get the classroom training, but had to go to other schools to receive the required practical or "skills" training. Beginning this month, students will be able to complete all of the state-required policing education through Rasmussen College.
"With this decision and the stamp of approval from the Minnesota POST Board, Rasmussen College is breaking new ground,"said Matthew Petz, the school’s Law Enforcement Coordinator.
"We have paved the way for new career opportunities for our current and future students. The careers that would have been virtually unattainable for so many are now more accessible and within reach." (KSTP News)
