ST. LOUIS, MO (May 20, 2009) – The Missouri Association of Private Career Colleges and Schools (MAPCCS) recently named Amy Wolff, DVM, as Technical Instructor of the Year at its annual convention in St. Louis. Dr. Wolff is director of the veterinary technology program at Sanford-Brown College in St. Peters.
Outstanding students, instructors and a top employer were honored during the meeting. Nominees for Instructor of the Year award were measured on their involvement in student training, innovativeness, creativity and community service.
Dr. Wolff has been an instructor at Sanford-Brown College since 2006. She is a member of the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, American Veterinary Medical Association, the Veterinary Wound Management Society and is an Advisory Board Member of the St. Charles Humane Society. She is a graduate of the University of Missouri at Columbia.
The meeting, held April 3 in St. Louis, attracted a record 202 attendees from private career colleges and schools, along with speakers and exhibitors.
St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis was recognized as Employer of the Year due to its involvement in the hiring of MAPCCS graduates. Sanford-Brown College has a close partnership with St. Anthony’s and nominated the hospital for its dedication to advancing the careers of their students.

More than 75,000 students are enrolled at private career colleges and schools in Missouri and approximately 22,000 graduate into the Missouri workforce each year.
