Fort Myers, Fla. (August 25, 2009) – Southwest Florida College recently announced their commitment as a $5,000 corporate sponsor for the Light The Night campaign for the benefit of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night Walk is the nation’s night to pay tribute and bring hope to people battling cancer. Thousands of participants carry illuminated balloons and raise funds for vital, lifesaving research and patient services.
Light The Night will be held at Estero Community Park on Saturday, November 14 at 5 p.m. There will be a bounce house, face painting, music, food and festivities.
“The dollars donated to the campaign go straight to cancer research,” said Steve Belcher, fundraising chairman for this year’s event.
Southwest Florida College is an accredited, private and nonprofit institution of higher learning centrally located in Fort Myers, Tampa, Port Charlotte and includes the Institute of Interior Design located within the International Design Center in Estero. The College has been providing post secondary education to Floridians since 1974 and offers programs in Allied Health, Business, Design, Education, Information Technology and Legal Studies.
