The Court of Master Sommeliers, a nonprofit organization that encourages improved standards of beverage knowledge and service in hotels and restaurants, will offer an introductory course and exam at Sullivan University in Louisville.
The course will be held Tuesday, Sept. 21 and Wednesday, Sept. 22, at Sullivan’s National Center for Hospitality Studies, 3101 Bardstown Road.
Bristol Bar and Grille beverage director Scott Harper will lead the course, along with master sommeliers Brett Davis and Matthew Citriglia.
The course is the first of four steps required to become a master sommelier.
It is described as an intensive two-day program that helps beverage professionals examine the taste of beer, wine and spirits.
The cost of the course and exam is $495 per person.
