The Imagine America Foundation to Host a Performance by The Beach Boys at the 2011 APSCU Convention

Washington, D.C. (March 3, 2011) — The Imagine America Foundation (IAF) and the Association for Private Sector Colleges and Universities (APSCU) are pleased to announce that rock ‘n’ roll legends the Beach Boys will perform at the 2011 APSCU Convention & Exposition in Grapevine, Texas.

The concert presented by ED MAP will be open to all attendants of the APSCU Convention, which will be held at the Gaylord Texan from June 6-8. The Beach Boys will perform on the evening of June 7. The APSCU convention is the largest annual gathering of career college executives and professionals, attracting more than 1,600 attendees in the career education postsecondary education market.

“To be able to welcome the Beach Boys to help us celebrate our accomplishments over the last year is truly exciting,” said Robert L. Martin, President of the Imagine America Foundation. “We’re also pleased to open the performance to everyone attending the convention. That wouldn’t be possible without tremendous support from our sponsors at ED MAP in cooperation with APSCU.”

Inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame in 1988, the Beach Boys are a legendary California, surf-rock band that has had 36 United States Top 40 hits – the most by an American rock band – and four number-one singles. The band was founded in 1961 in Hawthorne, California and is often referred to as "America’s Band." In 2004, Rolling Stone listed The Beach Boys at number 12 on their 2004 list of the "100 Greatest Artists of All Time.”

“The Imagine America Foundation offers tremendous opportunities to career college students through its various scholarship programs,” said Dr. Michael Mark, Chief Executive Officer of ED MAP. “It’s our pleasure to celebrate the Foundation’s successes with a live performance from one of the greatest rock n’ roll bands of all time.”

The traditional Imagine America LDRSHIP Award and Lifetime Achievement Award ceremonies will also take place during the convention.
