YTI Career Institute Sold To New England Firm

Career College Central summary:

  • YTI Career Institute has been bought by Porter and Chester Institute, known as PCI, a vocational-technical institution based in New England. The deal closed Monday afternoon, YTI spokeswoman Meagan Feeser said. Details of the transaction are not being disclosed, she said. No changes to YTI programs are planned, and the school will retain its name, Feeser said.
  • "PCI is a long-standing, proven school operator who, like YTI, employs an industry-modeled approach to learning, making this acquisition an ideal match," Mike Marino, YTI senior vice president of operations, said in a statement.
  • YTI, based in York, has York, Lancaster, Altoona and Mechanicsburg campuses and a Motorcycle Technology Center in York. The private for-profit postsecondary institution serves about 2,400 students, according to its website. There are 670 students at the Lancaster campus, Feeser said.
  • The website mentions the Mechanicsburg campus has ceased recruiting students and will graduate its last class in May. PCI has nine campuses in Massachusetts and Connecticut.
