Grantham University, an online university specializing in educating working adults, today announced that it has partnered with the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF). This partnership formed as a result of the Air Force’s Air University Associate to Baccalaureate Cooperative Program (AU ABC). This program allows CCAF to partner with military friendly academic institutions, such as Grantham University, which will accept all CCAF degree program credits in one or more of its Bachelor’s degree programs.
“We want to stay front and center with all of our students, including those in the Air Force,” said Greg Garcia, EdD, Dean of Military Programs at Grantham University. “Our goal is to continue providing the highest quality programs that truly represent a premier online experience.”
Grantham University was one of 10 schools that tested the concept, and CCAF accepted two of its degree programs, Computer Science and Electronics Engineering Technology for this initiative. Airmen will be able to log into the Air Force portal beginning June 1, 2007, browse through the available degree programs, and enroll with one of the accepted academic institutions.
“As both Grantham and the military education and training communities move forward into the 21st century, we’re excited about the revolutionary new ways we can cooperatively bring the highest quality education programs to our students — both locally and globally,” adds Garcia.
Grantham University offers online undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, General and Interdisciplinary Studies, Computer Science, and other technology-related fields. Grantham’s degree programs are flexible and self-paced, allowing students to complete their coursework at times and places that fit their busy schedules.
Grantham’s faculty, administration and advisors are comprised of educators, business executives, industry professionals and entrepreneurs. Among the advisors are Dr. Herbert I. London, founder, endowed chair, and former Dean of Students at New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study; John Ashford, an advisor to Fortune 100 companies as Chairman and CEO of The Hawthorne Group; David E. Baker, Brig. Gen. (USAF, Ret.), a decorated fighter pilot and Senior Vice President for the Stanford Washington Research Group; and Rear Admiral Karen Harmeyer, former Chief Staff Officer, Navy Surgeon General, OPNAV 093R.
