Awards ceremonies are an emotional time for both students and parents at United Education Institute’s Chula Vista campus. Standing at a podium in the courtyard near the School, students – many of them mothers – describe the hardships they’ve overcome to make something of their lives by obtaining a career through education.
On May 9, UEI will host a special tribute to mothers who attend the School by extending a special invitation to give back to the community. All mothers in attendance will receive free carnations at the conclusion of the awards ceremonies. Three hour-long awards ceremonies will take place in the UEI courtyard by the beautiful Park Village gazebo.
“The stories told by our students are involving any time, but especially given the proximity to Mothers’ Day and DÃa de la Madre,” said Jim York, UEI campus president. “Mothers often play a tremendous role with inspiring the commitment and passion it takes in our students to realize their dream of a higher education. The mothers who will be speaking at the podium will do the very same thing for their children sitting in the audience.”
UEI’s awards ceremonies are held once a month to honor outstanding student performance. Students receive awards for achieving a variety of academic achievements, such as perfect or near-perfect attendance and grade point average.
