I received my first degree from Herzing in Madison, WI in 1996, and completed my second degree with Herzing Online in 2006. In each case, my Herzing degree gave me the tools and credentials I needed to succeed in my career. When I graduated the first time, I started as an intern at Best Power, and was later hired as an Associate Manufacturing Engineer. After being laid off and working as a Technical Writer and Illustrator, I returned to Best Power as a Supplier Quality Technician, launching my career in Quality. Ultimately, I ended up at Benchmark Electronics as a Supplier Quality Engineer.
While I also have a BA from Penn State, I could not get further ahead at Benchmark without a BS. While attending Herzing’s Madison graduation, I was named to the local Wall of Fame. That’s when I learned more about the Bachelor of Science in Technology Management and enrolled in the program almost immediately. Since I was still working full time, had two small children, and was active in a professional society, I did not have the time to attend live classes. However, Herzing’s flexible online program let me do the coursework in the 15-60 minute increments that I had available, and I was able to finish the program quickly and ultimately get the promotion that I wanted. I was later able to present my capstone project at an ASQ Quality Management Division Conference, allowing me the opportunity to continue sharing the knowledge that I gained in school. If I decide to return for an MS or an MBA, Herzing will continue to be my first choice because of the support, flexibility, and value I have gotten from my Herzing education.
