When Jasmine Cadet moved from New York City to Atlanta, she began searching for a position in medical billing and coding, but her credentials were not sufficient to find work. After doing research online, she discovered that Herzing College [University] met her requirements for a regionally accredited college offering online classes and, most significantly, it’s convenient location near mass transit. According to Jasmine, “I made an appointment with an admissions advisor and came to Herzing for a campus tour. What really sealed the deal for me was the fantastic instructor-to-student ratio, which meant that I was going to get the personal attention in class that I needed. I started out pursuing an Associate Degree in Medical Billing and Insurance Coding but I decided to expand my studies, and I’m now working on my Bachelor Degree in Healthcare Management.”
Jasmine was recently elected to the position of President of the Student Government Association at Herzing and has volunteered with fellow Herzing students on projects benefiting Habitat for Humanity and the Atlanta Community Food Bank. She has also represented the school on Atlanta & Company, locally televised on the NBC affiliate. “I enjoy the Herzing field trips and extracurricular activities like traveling to Sapelo Island, the Grand Canyon and Biltmore Estates, as well as exceptional opportunities like going to view the original papers of Dr. Martin Luther King. We have a student/staff basketball association, book club, lunch and presentations and other events for the many interests of our students,” Jasmine said. In addition to her studies, Jasmine works in the administrative offices for the college. She is the proud mother of two daughters and plans to work in healthcare management upon graduation.
